Description

How to Day Trade for a Living is one of the most practical and widely recommended guides for traders who want to transition from theory to real-world application in day trading. Written in clear, accessible language, the book breaks down the essential skills, tools, and strategies needed to succeed in intraday markets. Rather than overwhelming readers with academic theories, Andrew Aziz focuses on the actual mindset, setups, and risk controls that active traders rely on daily.

The book opens by establishing realistic expectations about day trading—highlighting both the potential rewards and the risks of failure that await unprepared traders. Aziz carefully explains the importance of discipline, psychology, and structured routines, emphasizing that consistency and emotional control are just as vital as technical skills. Readers are introduced to key trading concepts such as support and resistance levels, candlestick patterns, moving averages, VWAP, and breakout strategies, all demonstrated with examples from real charts.

One of the standout strengths of this book is its focus on risk management and capital preservation. Aziz shows how to size positions correctly, use stop-losses effectively, and control risk so that no single trade can significantly harm a trader’s account. He also explores tools like trading simulators and journaling to help traders build experience without financial losses.

Beyond the technicals, How to Day Trade for a Living provides a blueprint for building a trading plan, developing watchlists, and creating routines that mimic those of professional traders. The guidance extends into broker selection, trading platforms, and setting up the right technology environment.

Overall, this book is ideal for beginners to intermediate traders who want a structured entry into the fast-paced world of day trading. It doesn’t promise overnight wealth; instead, it delivers the mindset, discipline, and methods required to build a foundation for long-term success. For anyone serious about pursuing day trading as a profession, Aziz’s book remains a must-read cornerstone in the trading literature.

I’ve never seen so many grammatical and spelling mistakes in a book.

  2. Amias Robertson (verified owner)

This book is not at all useful for a day trader. It is useful for a stock trader in general.

  3. Aria Reyna (verified owner)

No specified or valuable information for start with trading. Just a really introduction and nothing more. No examples or strategies how to start.

  4. Rylee Shaffer (verified owner)

It does okay in covering some basics but lacks good example trades, and contains no drawings of charts. This makes it very difficult for anyone without prior knowledge to start trading after reading this book. I can’t imagine anyone ‘Consistently Earning Passive Income’ after reading this book.

  5. Queen Mills (verified owner)

This book is tough to read. There are grammatical errors: missing words, mis-spellings, wrong words on just about every page which makes this tough to get through.

Also, there is not 1 chart or visual in the entire book – even as a beginner, it is tough to learn anything without even a sample chart / visualization to provide tangible examples in regards to the concepts he talks.

  6. Dexter Schmitt (verified owner)

Not a lot of content. Spelling and grammar issues on almost every page. would not recommend to anyone else.

  7. Alex Sanchez (verified owner)

Great book to teach you on how stocks and trading works and all the type of trading there is.
