“Gann Masters” by Larry Jacobs is a comprehensive instructional manual designed to teach traders the core principles, tools, and forecasting methods developed by the legendary W. D. Gann. Jacobs distills Gann’s complex body of work into a structured, practical, and highly approachable course, guiding readers step-by-step through the geometry, time cycles, ratios, and analytical processes behind Gann’s market methodology.
Beginning with foundational concepts—such as trend recognition, proper chart scaling, and price structure—Jacobs gradually introduces the deeper components of Gann’s system: swing charts, Gann angles, price–time balancing, and geometric proportioning. The early chapters (as reflected in the Preface and Foreword of the book) lay the philosophical groundwork for understanding why Gann believed markets operate according to natural law and mathematical rhythm.
As the course progresses, Jacobs presents advanced forecasting tools including the Square of Nine, Square of 144, Square of 12, octaves, natural ratios, time cycles, seasonal patterns, and long-term trend forecasting. These tools are illustrated using detailed diagrams and practical examples taken directly from real market data. Each chapter builds upon the previous one, making the learning process logical, sequential, and highly applicable.
By the end of the book, readers are equipped with a complete, structured framework for applying Gann’s techniques to modern markets—combining price analysis, time cycles, geometry, and pattern recognition into a unified forecasting system. “Gann Masters” is widely regarded as one of the clearest modern introductions to Gann’s trading philosophy.
✅ What You’ll Learn:
- The foundational principles of W. D. Gann’s trading and forecasting techniques.
- How to draw, interpret, and trade using Gann angles (1×1, 2×1, 4×1, 8×1).
- How to apply price–time squaring to identify turning points.
- How Gann’s number-based frameworks (Squares 9, 12, 52, 144, 360) forecast price and time.
- How to use swing charts, market structure, and trend logic for directional bias.
- How to identify natural ratios, geometric proportions, and octave divisions.
- How to build time-count models, seasonal studies, and long-term timing forecasts.
- How to combine price, time, and geometry into a complete Gann-style projection method.
💡 Key Benefits:
- A structured, clear learning path—ideal for grasping complex Gann methods.
- Practical examples that show exactly how to apply each concept.
- Bridges classical Gann theory with real, modern analytical techniques.

I was a bit unsure of reading Gann Masters, as a couple of his other books I was unimpressed on reading. I am getting to quite like reading Gann Masters, as it explains more about his philosophy behind his technique used in trading. Still reading and finding out something new each time. Quite inspiring.

This is a good beginner’s guide. The time forecasting portion is particularly good.

It’s a very good read first time I m seeing most of the gann methods compiled at one place

This book immediately jumps into advanced concepts without any attempt to explain the underlying concepts. It is a confusing read and full of grammatical errors. You may find value in this book once you are completely familiar with Gann’s works, but if you are looking for a book that will lead you through the fundamental concepts of Gann it would be best to stay away from this book.

I have read some of the negative reviews about this and against these, I have decided to purchase the book regardless. I have been trying to understand Gann techniques which seems forever and finally Larry Jacobs has found a way to break it in lament terms and in an effective way to piece it all together. From other’s I did understand a lot of what was taught but I could not put it all together. If there is detail missing, look closer and re-read! There is enough information in this book to get the picture! It may not be an advance course but it is at least a very satisfactory book!! A+

An interesting book however very difficult to understand. You need to meticulously study each chapter thoroughly. You need to spend a lot of time for study.

the book is mostly about investing in commodities not stock and it really does not explain gann’s law of vibration or explain how gann did what he did. The more i read about gann the harder it gets seperate myth from the man. This book definitely does not do it for me.

This book has a good story line in Chapter One about W.D. Gann’s life, but the trading techniques described are far from anything for traders to lean on.
I have been in the financial field for nearly 15 years and a professional trader for five years and I don’t think this book should be named Gann Master Course. The title is very misleading and super disappointing.
I understand the author won first place in Robbin Trading Championship a couple times and I was hoping this book can help horn my techniques with Gann; nothing in the book is worth $11. I don’t want to disparage his work; but there’s another book that’s better value with explanation on square of 9, time line, overlay for 1/3 of the price.
The book does not have hyperlinks (this may be a technical know how issue). Chart illustrations and interpretation seemed to teach others to rely on luck rather than actual trading experience.

Too much written with too little explanations. This is supposed to be a explanatory course … not a descriptive treatise. The explanations are incomplete with intervening explanations being omitted and too much being taken for granted. This is typical of experts who are indeed experts but inept teachers. Don’t expect the Gann principles to become clear from this book. Frankly, I have gone through 32% of the kindle version … and I am totally confused with many more questions to be answered than when I had started the book!!!
Teaching is an art … authors should stick to writing books, not manuals and courses such as this … this is the job of those artful teachers who understand the need of the beginners and how to, gradually and systematically, transform a beginner into a master.
This does nothing of the kind and seems to be just a journal or documentation of the author’s need to document his thoughts. This course is definitely not recommended for anyone who wants to learn and understand Gann’s principles, practices and philosophy. Waste of money … don’t buy it.

This is THE book for the serious trader.
He explain important details that other Gann courses don’t mention or explain.
When you study the material you will notice its clear explanations and it show that he use it everyday.
Fantastic material
