Description

A Trader’s Guide to Financial Astrology: Forecasting Market Cycles Using Planetary and Lunar Movements by Larry Pesavento and Shane Smoleny is a fascinating exploration of the intersection between astrology and financial markets. Far from being a traditional trading manual, this book reveals how planetary cycles, lunar phases, and cosmic alignments can influence investor psychology, market sentiment, and the timing of price movements. The authors argue that the forces shaping human behavior are reflected in financial markets, and by studying celestial patterns, traders can uncover a unique edge in anticipating market cycles.

Pesavento, a veteran trader known for blending unconventional methods with technical analysis, and Smoleny, an expert in market psychology and cycle research, present a compelling case for integrating astrology into trading. They walk readers through practical applications of planetary aspects, eclipses, and lunar movements, showing how these alignments often correlate with turning points in stocks, commodities, and currencies. Charts and historical examples back their arguments, illustrating how astrology has been used successfully to forecast market behavior over decades.

What sets this book apart is its structured, research-driven approach. Rather than treating astrology as abstract mysticism, the authors ground their analysis in measurable cycles and empirical correlations. They provide clear guidelines for identifying patterns, constructing forecasts, and integrating astrological insights with more conventional trading tools. This makes the material approachable for both skeptics curious about new perspectives and practitioners seeking to refine their astrological trading techniques.

The book also emphasizes the psychological dimension of trading. By recognizing how planetary influences can affect mood, confidence, and collective behavior, traders gain a deeper appreciation of the forces shaping markets beyond charts and fundamentals. This perspective encourages readers to think more holistically about risk, timing, and the cyclical nature of opportunity.

For traders open to exploring beyond traditional analysis, A Trader’s Guide to Financial Astrology offers an innovative and thought-provoking roadmap. It stands as a unique contribution to trading literature—bridging ancient wisdom and modern market practice in a way that challenges assumptions and expands the possibilities of market forecasting.

an excellent beginner’s guide to a complex subject that is essential to understanding the seemingly unexpected booms and busts the markets are prone to.

Good basic info on planets & slight correlations to signs & market place but it felt like the book cut off too short. A lot of graphs over the years of market trends but still doesn’t really explain how to go trade for myself. But overall better understanding of financial astrology. Still recommend buying but don’t depend on it to make u money instantly… more self research is needed

I don’t want to say anything bad about it, I just didn’t understand what I was buying. From the title I thought it was about buying and selling stocks as it relates to your Astrological sign. For instance, Leo’s do better with Tech stocks, while Aries favors the Financial sector. Uh no.

Not useful….. Do not buy this crape. Completely waist of money.

I am a retired teacher, and a friend recommended “A Trader’s Guide to Financial Astrology” to me as he uses astrology along with other methods to determine his investment choices. Thirty-five years of classroom teaching has left me with a pension, Social Security, and a next egg that must be actively and wisely invested as I realize that my egg’s risk of cracking is greater than ever given today’s volatile economic conditions.

I’m continuously exploring diverse sources of information and methods of investing. The book defines financial astrology, how it has and can significantly assist in analyzing successful market forecasting.

After reading the book, I now have a foundational understanding of how astrology can be one more analytical device, a sort of universal ratchet in my investment toolbox that I can add to my financial planning strategies.

author has taken an approach that I have no knowledge of and made it an understandable and useful complement to my technical analysis, taking a complex subject and simplifying its application to the futures market.

Most books on financial astrology assume too much and put you in the middle of the subject without help. This book lays out the principles that will allow the trader to properly use the tools of financial astrology. With these principles the trader can intelligently explore the world of financial astrology. The statistical work on the lunar cycle is brilliant. This book is a must for anyone who wants to explore financial astrology.
