Be Smart, Act Fast, Get Rich is a book for all investors from first-time stock buyers to seasoned investors. ‘Be Smart’ suggests you understand the fundamentals of the company you are purchasing. ‘Act Fast’ suggests that action must be taken if you are going to increase your wealth in the stock market. All too often we find interesting ideas to invest in but never have the confidence to act, only to watch the stock’s price rise while others reap the benefits. This book is an easy read, and a must-read for all investors.

Author’s Introduction:

Be Smart, Act Fast, Get Rich will touch your hot buttons. It will feel like I wrote it just for you, because I know all the mistakes you’ve made or in some cases continue to make. I was a poor kid from Harlem who dreamed of enjoying a good life because of the stock market, and I’m here. Everyone should be here—it is not hard. But it takes belief and some work.

You aren’t going to get rich by simply putting money into a 401(k) and watching it return 7 percent a year. You shop at stores whose shares go up twice as fast or even three or four times as much. You aren’t taking advantage of the best money-making machine in the world if you are simply putting money into a bunch of mutual funds that rarely even keep pace with the gains in the broad stock market. If you’re diligent, then by all means play funds; but make sure your fund manager delivers results. All too often people park money in funds and let them ride into weak returns.

I demystify the market in a way that will allow everyone to understand how the dots connect and how we are all intertwined in the stock market. Not owning stocks is the same as working for free, denying yourself the fruits of your very existence. There are no shortcuts—no magic elixir for playing the market, no black boxes that spit out winner after winner—but by the same token, it really isn’t rocket science, either. Really.

I’m going to teach you how to use fundamental analysis along with technical analysis to discover undervalued stocks and assemble portfolios that are positioned to outperform the market, positioned to make you rich. I’m going to give you the knowledge and tools to stop emotionally sabotaging your stock market investing efforts. I’m going to teach you how to be an investor and not a trader simply flipping stocks for pennies rather than owning them for the kind of gain that buys you real comfort and peace of mind.
