Since I have been investing in international equities for many years, this book was of particular interest. Foreign exchange impacts us all and particularly those of us investing globally. This book gives a fascinating insight into exactly how the Foreign Exchange market, the world’s largest, actually works. I was particularly interested in the description of the six major players in the market: central banks, commercial and investment banks, multinational corporations, institutional traders, retail Forex brokers, and retail traders. One particularly fascinating feature in the book is a psychological questionnaire that determines ‘What kind of trader are you?’ and also deals with trading strategies for various types of traders.

This is an excellent primer for traders at the start of their Forex trading career. I especially like the fact that it is separated into two parts, with Part 1 covering a complete introduction to Forex and Part 2 covering the exact strategies. At the end, Mario provides two invaluable pieces of advice for continued success. Firstly, he provides the five rules a trader must adhere to. Secondly, he sets out the three character attributes a trader must have. I believe this book deserves a place in your bookshelf.

I just finished reading this book and it was very informative and extremely motivating. Singh explained the ins and outs of forex very well with no confusion at all. I have been trading the forex market for about 10 months on a practice account. This book increased my knowledge and strategies. So far so good 🙂

I was a little disappointed by this book. There is a section about aligning your personality style to the type of trading e.g scalping, day, swing etc which I think is a great idea. I fell into being suited for swing trading, so I looked at the strategies. Not great, one of them describes a strategy but you need the MT4 platform. So this is a bit annoying. Another describes a strategy using Bollinger bands, but these strategies are not complete. They highlight on a chart how these might work, but when you look at the same chart there are other instances when they don’t work. I feel the author does training but is not a practising trader. Sorry, I don’t want to appear negative, but I have found better especially on the low cost kindle downloads about trading.

All of these books on finance, especially regarding stock, futures, options and forex books are way, way over priced. What is written in this books, as the another reviewer states, nothing new and can be found ‘free’ at internet. Be they stock or currency market, there is no easy way to make money, and if these were condensed to 17 principles, everyone would be making millions. In fact, 99 % of retail traders lose money in the stock, forex, future or option market. The author tries some psychological profile to categorise a reader, however, people cannot be so easy to be classified.
The book is, unfortunately, one of many books that can be inundating the potential investors with same information that can be found elsewhere. As another reviewer states, there is little information and examples on strategies, instead, the book is filled with elementary information for beginners. Given the price is so expensive, the readers expect much better contents.
