Breakthrough Strategies for Predicting Any Market provides easy to understand text with excellent chart examples. Jeff describes wave patterns and points out the mistake most Elliotticians make with triangles. He delves into when to expect these patterns with a methodology that is original to this work-the time bars usually confirm the pattern and most will complete in the correct number of Fibonacci or Lucas time bars.
Author’s Introduction:
An important section on Elliott waves provides explicit rules and takes you far beyond basic Elliott pattern recognition. Jeff shows that the time elements exist on every chart in order to give you a total awareness of what market precision looks like. You are dealing with the specific language of the market-bull and bear phases in any degree of trend have unique characteristics.
Breakthrough Strategies for Predicting Any Market introduces the time element on technical analysis charts and incorporates it into existing methodologies you already use. We build on it slowly from one chapter to the next. There are other books that cover the time dimension, but they don’t include Lucas to the degree done so here. My goal is to simplify it in such a way as to make it a practical extension of technical analysis.
Gann started this work, and for the most part it has not caught on with the masses because it is very complicated and takes too many years to learn. I’m not going to hit you over the head with Gann wheels or angles. My job is to take something very complex and present it in a practical way that won’t take years to learn. Mind you, don’t confuse simple with easy. This takes work, but I believe it is very rewarding and well worth the effort. No matter how well this works, though, if it doesn’t become fun, you won’t adopt it as part of your game plan.
By the time you are finished with this book, your understanding of Elliott will be exponentially greater than it is now. You will be able to eliminate much of the subjectivity of Elliott and confirm patterns based on the time element of the charts. You will be able to recognize tops and bottoms as well as the many smaller turns in the markets. You will be able to look at a chart and determine the direction more easily than ever before. You will be able to combine this methodology with other popular indicators and use it with greater effectiveness.

In general, this book is not worth to read for experince trader (specaly it is too expensive book, the book can be summarized in 5 to 10 pages no more): Good point in the book: using Lucas numbers with fibbonachi number in predicting the market timming, Fibonashi price clustring, Predicting market target using market coorections, Divergance.

I have been a trader for 12 years and was introduced to this authors work several months ago when I subscribed to his newsletter. One of the claims made in this book is that you will never view a chart in the same way again. This is a fact, that I witnessed a few weeks ago when I gained first hand knowledge of exactly what that meant. The light just switched on in my brain. I watched and traded the Dow E-Mini as it fell 180 points into price and time support, as taught in this book. Most importantly, I had the confidence to hold my shorts and cover my position at the most advantages price. It was incredible to then see the market reverse as if spring loaded from such a bearish position and exactly on cue in the 61st hour off its high.

Mr Greenblatt is an experienced trader and he believes that he is adding value to Fibonacci ratio analysis by adding “Lucas numbers”- same idea as Fibonacci but starting with 2 plus 1 instead. He then shows charts where turning points correlate with Fibonacci or Lucas numbers, the trouble being that there are so many of these possibilities that just about anywhere might do it.

“Breakthrough Strategies for Predicting any Market” is one of the most original and powerful books on trading that has been written in a long time. I have read many books on trading and the markets over the past several years. This is one of the finest and most usable I have read during that time.

When you are trading, the most important thing is WHEN you buy and WHEN you sell. The classical technical analysis does not deal with time element. This book tries to fill this gap by showing you a new way of thinking. It demonstrates you through lots of charts that the turning point happens in a specific time. Fibonacchi and Lucas numbers can be used to calculate these turning points. This is not a 100% certain method because there is always uncertainty but it can help understand more what happens on the chart. The best way to understand this concept is to read this book and think the chart again and again. For a while, you start to understand what is this new way of thinking. I recommend this book to everyone.

I am intrigued by the diagonally opposed reactions that this book by Jeff Greenblatt appears to be causing in the trading community. I feel the book is priced too high for what it is offering and this I suspect is inhibiting wider circulation and acceptance of the book’s message.
