Naked Puts: Power Strategies for Consistent Profits is your complete A-Z guide to naked puts, an income-generating stock options investment strategy. Selling naked puts is a conservative income-generating strategy that allows investors to earn premium on bullish and neutral stocks and is the best strategy to acquire stock at a discount. This is not a book for those who are interested in trading options as a speculative investment vehicle.
Introduction:
Both authors have had the benefit of talking to thousands of options investors over the last 10 years. This work includes the ideas, concepts, fortunes and misfortunes of investors’ experiences trading the naked put strategy. Its purpose is to help you succeed in the use of the naked put options strategy. It is a practical guidebook that is rich with illustrations, theoretical and real life examples.
Many books on options explain the techniques of this strategy, but then do not help in the management of the position once it is established. We have tried to go further and help you understand how to manage the position no matter what direction the stock might turn. It is very important to have a plan and know how to execute it, especially if the position goes against you. Sometimes your trades will not follow the path you hoped; therefore, you need an approach to address any eventuality. We have given you a complete approach to manage your positions as each expiration approaches. As a result of reading this book you should expect to:
- Gain enhanced concepts of options.
- Learn general and specific rules for researching naked put trades.
- Determine which stocks are most suitable for the strategy.
- Learn techniques for analyzing and comparing potential trades.
- Learn focused criteria to help select the best trade for your goals.

With a little work and attention there is serious money to be made with Put Options. Just figure out how they work and then put them to work.

This is a good book for beginners. I bought it when I had no idea that you could sell puts and generate income. It opened a new chapter in my life and now that I am unemployed, the strategy has served me well to generate more than what I was making at my old job. I do read some excerpts from the book from time to time but I lent it to a friend and now he is excited about options and naked puts.
These days I am looking for something more sophisticated but this book, eventhough it pitches their web site, did open my eyes to this strategy.
Now, you do not need to sign up for their web site to understand what they are trying to explain in the book but I did try it and honestly, if you trade using thinkorswim, you do not need any of the option fee based web sites and to track trades, gains and/or losses a spreadsheet is more than enough. They do offer a 14 day trial on their web site and thinkorswim offers a paper trade account also so if you are interested, try both and compare them.

I was a complete beginner in relation to options trading when I came across this book. But I was able to read the entire book and understand 90% of what was being said as it was explained very very well for beginners. But for anyone who knows options well at all, this is not for you, it is basic options for beginners and excellently done for beginners, doesn’t leave anything unexplained like many other beginner books, however the book did not state it was for beginners. The book has bits where it promotes its own website, but only for about 3 consecutive pages at the end of each chapter. Easily skipped over. Most comprehensive book for BEGINNERS i have found.

A very good, very basic primer on trading Naked Puts. I have been selling puts for a little while and have found this work an important supplement to my limited knowledge. I would advise anyone who has not sold “puts to open” to read this book first.

These two guys are very knowledgeable about options, but they aren’t strictly short put traders. This book does include some good info about short puts, but it also sells their software fairly heavily. It’s much longer than it needed to be in my opinion (book length doesn’t equate to content quality–Mark Twain wrote in a letter to a friend once that he apologized for the excessive length of the letter, but he didn’t have the time to write a shorter one). They miss a couple of key points in short put arena in my opinion. I have used their scanner a little and found their trades to be too conservative for me.
