About the Author

Larry Pesavento is the founder and owner of Trading Tutor, a technical analysis education service that emphasizes recurring pattern recognition techniques. Larry is a 45-year veteran of the finance industry who began his trading career on a full-time basis in 1969. His library is one of the most complete chronologies on technical analysis, containing teachings that range from astrology to automatic trading. Larry managed the commodity department of Drexel Burnham Lambert in California for six years before becoming a member of the Chicago Mercantile exchange in 1981.

In 1990, Larry began a search for the use of artificial intelligence programs to determine the best way for day trading futures, stocks, and Forex markets. This is a continuing endeavor on his part.  Larry has authored 10 books on trading and has appeared on CNBC many times with his predictions based on astro-harmonic cycles. He has trained over 1000 traders in the past 30 years, and has been registered with the SEC, NFA, and CFTC over the course of his career.

Larry’s specialty is pattern recognition swing trading. He is developed intricate price patterns from the study of the old Masters i.e. Richard Wyckoff, HM Gartley, George Bayer , George Cole, Ralph Elliott and many others. His cycle work is taking him from the foundation for the study of cycles through Astro harmonic patterns popularized by W.D Gann and others. It was a regular guest during the 70s and 80s at the financial news network in Los Angeles which was the beginning of CNBC several years later. He has accumulated one of the most extensive libraries on trading in the business over the past 50 years and has been willing to share this work with others that have the interest. His best friend for many years was Mark Douglas the author of “Trading in the Zone” which brought the mental part of trading into his methodology.
