Author’s Note:
This series of books, “The PATTERNS of Gann,” is dedicated to you. When I started studying Gann several years ago it was with calculator in hand and I suggest that you do the same thing. Some believe Gann can be solved without looking at the numbers, but I’m sure that by this time you have learned differently. The answer has to be in his numbers!
So, with calculator in hand for several years I ran thousands of numbers through it. Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing the Gann numbers. As I did so, PATTERNS emerged. They made no sense at first. I had no background for them. During my reading of the Gann material I could see that his keys were based on math (specifically that of the ancient systems), astronomy, astrology, Masonic and Biblical material and related writings. So, I started reading the ancient math, etc. As I did the PATTERNS began to come into focus. That will be our watchword as you read this series of books. PATTERNS!
I will make reference many times to PATTERNS and you too will learn to recognize them and how to uncover more. You will also see something else as the PATTERNS emerge. Even though Gann said he used algebra and geometry simple observational arithmetic can be used to solve most Gann problems. No algebra is needed!
This series of books, “The PATTERNS of Gann” were originally to be titled “Exploring the Numbers of Gann,” but I thought a better title was “The PATTERNS of Gann” since the exploration of the numbers of Gann is really an exploration for PATTERNS.

This is book about the numbers, you will not find any how to trade information, no charts, and no formulas; only number sequences, astronomy/market patterns. This is very useful information if you know what you are looking for.
Pros: interesting mathematical sequences/patterns and ideas, this material is not a paraphrasing of Gann ideas like most of the books about this topic.
Cons: lot a blank space on pages. I think, proper edited book could be on ~300 pages instead of 611. Lack of pictures/formulas, one picture worth thousand words. Some number sequences can be translated into mathematical formulas but author doesn’t do this.
Summary: decent book for the money (sale), interesting ideas about the numbers, this book is a result of author’s personal research and patterns observation, I think that author knows more than reflected on book pages.
To sum up, I can recommend this book.

it is a complete and utter waste of money. It totally lacks any charts, graphs or the like and basically is a collection of the mindless ramblings of the authors. Could not possibly recommend it to any body

I am greatly disappointed by this book. I now see that the price has gone up astronomically. Seems that anything relating to Gann is expensive. I bought the book for $39 dollars expecting the price would increase and hoping I could get an inexpensive insight into Gann methodology. The book is organized into many independent charters that can in the author’s own words be read in any order. Mainly he talks about properties of squares and other geometric shapes but does not relate anything to trading. He has the annoying habit of saying ” see the pattern ” when a couple of numbers show some property, all the while the question remains what does this do to enhance my trading. In a couple of places he assumes you have the Gann trading course in front of you. Perhaps in ten years doing nothing but thinking about this book I may find the relevance of this book.

I saw the negative reviews and had to counter them. If you are looking for “the Gann secrets” then this is not the book for you – I’ll spare you my total disdain of people who think that one book will give them all the secrets that Gann spent 50 years developing.
Rather this is a book that goes through many of the concepts that Gann wrote about in his books, letters, and marketing material. Looking at the ways numbers work. For me, this book has been an invaluable reference when programming these concepts into software.
If you love numbers and patterns and saying “oh wow that’s amazing” then this is a great book for you. It’s not going to tell you how to trade with any of these concepts, but it may help you develop your own ideas.
