Description

By reading Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques you will discover how candlesticks will add another dimension of analysis. Candlestick techniques can be used for speculation and hedging. They can be used for futures, equities, options, or anywhere technical analysis is applied.

Introduction:

Would you like to learn a technical system refined by centuries of use, but virtually unknown here? A system so versatile that it can be fused with any Western technical tool? A system as pleasurable to use as it is powerful? If so, this book on Japanese candlestick charting techniques is for you. You should find it valuable no matter what your background in technical analysis.

Japanese candlestick charts are older than bar charts and point and figure charts. Candlesticks are exciting, powerful, and fun. Using candlesticks will help improve your market analysis. My focus will be mainly on the U.S. markets, but the tools and techniques in this book should be applicable to almost any market. If you like reading about colorful terminology like “hanging-man lines,” “dark-cloud covers,” and “evening stars” then this book is for you. If you subscribe to one of the multitude of services now providing candlestick charts and would like to learn how to use these charts, then this book is for you.

In the first part of the book, you learn how to draw and interpret over 50 candlestick lines and formations. This will slowly and clearly lay a solid foundation for the second part where you will learn to use candlesticks in combination with Western technical techniques. This book will not give you market omniscience. It will, however, open new avenues of analysis and will show how Japanese candlesticks can “enlighten” your trading.

Disregard the reviews that say the paper is made of rice etc etc. the book and pictures in it are acceptable quality to read

  2. Angelo Mata (verified owner)

In some way, the candle pattern is relatively intuitive, even without reading books. I usually can tell bullish or bearish by just looking at them, so I thought I know enough. However, by the time I have finished the last chapter in the book, I realized how much I have missed. This book not only presents a collection of candle patterns but also explains in great clarity for the underlying supply and demand forces. More importantly, the author combines price action, volume, resistance and support levels, and indicators to verify the patterns’ validity throughout the book.

  3. Lila Sawyer (verified owner)

On the pro side, this book is very good for somebdoy who is starting with Candlesticks (like me). I found this book to be very solid in it’s subject content. It explained the various patterns and why they carry the significance that they do. A lot of material is available on the internet but a lot of them don’t point out the basis of the candlestick functioning pattern.

  4. Alivia Huber (verified owner)

This is a great book on not only learning about candlesticks but also about technical analysis more broadly. After reading this book, I must add it to my “required list” of readings for anyone who wants to learn how to become a good trader

  5. Angelina Butler (verified owner)

Most retinal recommend this for anyone who is seeking a comprehensive work on candlesticks.

  6. Conrad Kramer (verified owner)

This book provides basics and detailed knowledge of candlesticks and how it can be used. It doesn’t guarantee you can earn money, but can guide you where the stock is at.

  7. Uriel Yang (verified owner)

This book is a valuable resource for traders. It provides a comprehensive and contemporary perspective on candlestick charting, bridging ancient techniques with modern trading. The author’s clear explanations and practical examples make it accessible to all levels of traders. While it may be overwhelming for beginners, with practice, it becomes an invaluable tool for understanding market psychology and making informed trading decisions. This book is a must-read for those serious about improving their trading skills.

  8. Ryder Austin (verified owner)

I’ve read several books on trading, but this one gives you the ABCs and guides your understanding. Without this book, I would still be trying to understand what other books mean. This book is a must for a person who wants to learn how to read charts.

  9. Sawyer Hines (verified owner)

This book starts of with history and does a very good job of explaining all the basic concepts very well. It shows that the author put in a great deal of effort and is a pleasure to read.

  10. Veronica Lowery (verified owner)

The author is a little repetitive, but he does a great job of walking you through the basics of charting patterns with interesting anecdotes of its historical concept. I’m liking the material very much. However, the book itself is horrible. It smells…really bad. It’s like it was dipped in formaldehyde before being shipped. I wear a mask to cover my nose when I read it to keep from triggering asthma.

  11. Hanna Villarreal (verified owner)

If your looking to learn for a way to learn and earn I highly recommend you start by reading this book. I lost a significant amount of money I must admit but you cant make an omelet without breaking a few eggs.

  12. Abigail Morse (verified owner)

I was instructed to read this book by a friend who is making a great living trading the forex market. It’s a great book teaching you what candle sticks are, how to read and understand them and what to look for in the various patterns they make. I do recommend buying the hard cover book over the downloadable book because most of the pictures are on a different page than the explaining text. I found that do be distracting having to swipe back and forth and in several cases swiping several pages at a time. The hard cover should be easier to follow. I gave this book a 5 star rating because I’m new to this and found the information extremely helpful.

I have dozens of books on trading and several books on candlestick charting, but this is the candlestick book I return to over and over. However, the reason I like this book so much is not for the candlestick pattern explanations. Candlestick patterns are fairly simple and are explained very well in many books (including this one) as well as for free on the internet. This book excels because of the way candlestick patterns are integrated with technical analysis. The author combines candlestick patterns with trend lines, fibonacci retracement levels, moving averages, RSI, Stochastics, MACD, volume, chart patterns, etc. Everytime I pick up this book, I learn not just more about candlesticks, but about technical analysis as well. The author’s explanations are written in an easy to read, conversational tone and are packed with pearls of trading wisdom. I do not know this author or have any affiliation with him. I simply love this book and believe that most traders will, too.

  14. Natasha Pierce (verified owner)

Very informative book. However I found other books I liked better

  15. Hadley Huerta (verified owner)

The actual content is basically a definitive textbook. The example charts, that you use to confirm the new material that you learn at every turn, however, is of a woeful quality and especially when it comes to dates and pricings they must be squinted at to be read. This is true even on a large fonted tablet. I don’t know why they couldn’t make the quality of the chart better especially since the actual contents are like a textbook holy grail on the subject, except the grail has little nicks in the etching, just a tad short of perfectly pristine legibility.

  16. Douglas Peterson (verified owner)

This book teaches you how to read the market using candle sticks and helps combine eastern and western technicals to help give better signals for your trading bias.

  17. Nikolai Estrada (verified owner)

I’ve read some comments and I feel they need to go back and hit the books more. Candlesticks are very important to your trading be it you, day trade, Scalp, or swing. Doesn’t matter when you learn candlestick patterns the proper way you’ll do a lot better in your trades and can be an independent investor.

  18. Tanner Ramsey (verified owner)

I have finally finished reading the book. The information it contains is good, but could be laid out much better. I hope that this review might help someone else avoid (or at least be aware of) the issues I have with this rather expensive book.

  19. Mathew Li (verified owner)

Gives an indept history of Japanese technical analysis as well as the origin of their financial vocabulary.

  20. Marceline Wiley (verified owner)

Very good book for traders, especially new traders or stakeholders of financial markets.

  21. Bode Gonzales (verified owner)

If I were to teach a course on technical analysis, this and the follow up book would be required reading.

  22. Paige Barrett (verified owner)

Love what I was able to order.

  23. Lillie Charles (verified owner)

This is a must have. It puts real meaning behind candles and the patterns they make. It will be a great reference for years if not a lifetime of trading.

  24. Nicolas Matthews (verified owner)

Man I must say this is the bible of candles stick charting books! I’m still a new trader with only 6 months of doing it. But I’ve taken time off to try and learn the craft of reading charts with candles and support and resistance lines. And I’m feeling really confident when I go live again on my account that I have way more confidence and knowledge on certain aspects of the market then I did when I first started! Thanks Steve Nison! Whenever someone ask me where did I learn this forex stuff from I’ll just point them in the direction of this book.

The info contained is concise, well explsined and detailed with example pictures. It does not beat about the bush and wastes time, but resoects that yiu as a reader are here for one reason: to learn candlestick patterns, formations and ques…tgere us however a mayor drawback: the orint: which has the text so far into the spine if the book you have to wrestle with it to read the words unfortunate enough to be by the center of thd book. Meanwhile there id plenty of room along the edges … whoever designed this git paid fir a poor job. And as any reading that demands concentration such irritants can be detrimental.
