All About Day Trading covers all aspects of the subject, explaining how day trading works, how it fits into the larger world of the financial markets, and how to navigate its hazards. It takes you through the fundamentals and then moves on to more advanced topics—providing a fully rounded outline that will get you going in no time.
The day trading game is all about making money. On the surface it would seem that there isn’t much more to day trading than making money. To some individuals, however, day trading is more about the challenge and the excitement than it is about the money. Every day our lives present us with many challenges. There are numerous ways in which we can put ourselves in the position of being challenged. Day trading in my view is not something we should do for the challenge. While it is true that a great deal of satisfaction can be gained from being a successful day trader, we must not enter into the day trading game for the purpose of meeting a challenge but rather for the purpose of achieving financial victory.
Given the vast increase in volatility during the 1990s and 2000s, there are more opportunities to profit from large and even small intraday changes now than ever before. At the same time, commissions, computers, and communications costs are also lower than ever before. That combination has created a win-win situation, but only for those who are able to master the game. This, of course, leads to the inevitable question, how do we master the day trading game?
There are literally hundreds of ideas out there in the trading world about how to win as a day trader. A keyword Internet search on the term day trading yields 44,800,000 results. That is truly a staggering number; were we to track down every lead, it would leave us no time to actually day trade. And so the good news is that there’s a great deal of information out there about day trading. The bad news is that there is so much information, it is impossible to critically assess the accuracy and validity of all of it. Finally, we come to the worst news: I estimate that over 98 percent of the methodologies offered or purported to be successful are neither objective nor profitable.

Having read the other day trader book by Jake , I found yet more sensible advice and guidance . Keep trading simple is the theme coupled with tight monetary control. I like the informal style of writing and the illustrations are well presented . I recommend this book to beginners as a path to follow and experienced traders as a reminder that trading does not have to be overly complicated ,just precise.

The preview gives you the impression that this is for beginners as well. The beginning of the book gives you the same impression
by explaining what is trading and why to do or not to do it. And then, without warning he suddenly bombard you with methods using financial terms that you haven’t got a clue what they are and are necessary in order to do understand what he wants to teach.
The even bigger absurd is, that some of this terminology he does explain, but long later in the book after you needed them in order to understand earlier things.
He also compares sometimes a method that he suggests with a name of another traditional method that you are supposed to know, God knows from where. There are also English or numerical errors that if you are not careful can mislead you.

I found the advice in this book to be too vague. It gives you a general idea of trading styles, but does not provide specifics as to entry, exit, etc. The graphs are terrible and only add to the confusion. This book was a waste of time.

I have heard Jake B speaking a couple of time. I like this book, but feel it could be updated. It is valuable for someone who is struggling with Day Trading. Although if you are struggling with Day Trading, my suggestion is haul off and go back to paper trading only until you have developed a strategy that works enough of the time to give you a consistent profit. I have found some of Jake’s strategies to not work as well as he claims, but watched carefully this book can give excellent food for thought.

I was looking forward to receiving this book and when it arrived and I started to try to get in to it I could not have been more disappointed. Whatever value it might have, IMO, is ruined by the small font size of the print. It is unacceptable and if I was the author I would be embarrassed to have my name on the book, knowing what a frustration it would be for readers. To complicate this even more, the author uses dozens of charts to show trading patterns as examples for what he is saying and the small print makes the charts nearly unusable and unintelligible. In addition, the author is not concise in his expression and sometimes takes 25 words to say what he should be able to say in 10. Sadly, I may opt to return he book because it’s not going to be easy for me to use it as is. I’m sure the author meant well and seems quite sincere.
