Great book. I’d recommend it to anybody considering using technical analysis for trading. Very insightful, easy-to-read and understand. Mr. Pistolese has many worthy reads on the subject. I’ve learned a lot and have yet to be disappointed.

This book is not at all what it claims to be. It shows a basic line chart of a stock whose price is rising and tells you this is a bullish stock and you should invest in it. Then it shows a line chart of a stock whose price is falling and tells you this is bearish so do not invest in this stock. The only technical indicator mentioned is a moving average and it is not explained in any detail. It then tells you that you should also consider investing in stocks with a good dividend. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in here will help you select a winning stock. I can only guess that the 5-star raters know the author.

The Select Winning Stock Using Technical Analysis book is one of the most practical trading books that I have read. It is not only practical but very comprehensive.

What I found more helpful about this book was the process provided to select and analyze any stock, the references to several valuable investment and trade related websites and its clarity and practicality.

This book gave me the practical guidance to start doing my own methodical research and the confidence that I was looking for to start trading.

This is a great book showing how to analyze your exisiting portfolio or potential stock investments using technical analysis. The author has done a great job explaining technical analysis in plain English and shows you step by step using freely available webtools, how to check your stock performance or time your buys/sells. The examples are simple and powerful. I have tried to use TA in my investments before but could never figure out how best utilize it until now. He also talks about how to quickly check the current status of the market and where it is headed based on some few data points. Great book if you’re interested making technical analysis part of your stock selection.

If you have no idea about technical analysis then you may find this book of some use. If on the other hand you have spent more than a few hours reading about TA on the web then this book will disappoint you. It is very simplistic in its approach and never really goes much deeper than showing you a chart and telling you if it is good or not. This book really isn’t about analysis as much as picture matching.

The book can be divided into four parts. The first quarter of the book discusses TA. The second quarter discusses fundamental analysis. The third quarter is a multiple choice quiz and the last quarter is a glossary. Considering the book is only 200 pages this means things are very superficially covered. There are much better books on TA. This one is very disappointing.

I started reading about investing one year ago, and lately became interested in Technical Analysis as a valuable investing tool. I have read a few books. This one was the one that told me most in the shortest time. It also answered some important questions regarding how to suspect that the market may be turning from bull to bear and what to do about it.

I was impressed by Mr. Pistolese ability as a writer, he does not waste paper and readers time. Also informs you about some websites and how to use them to get the necessary information about different investments possibilities, but not too many, just what is needed.
