Michael Durbin is a financial technology consultant, author and speaker who writes the kind of finance books he wishes were around when he was just getting started. After a brief career in corporate film and video production, he found himself around the turn of the millennium writing software and eventually designing entire software systems for the pricing and trading of exchange-traded financial derivatives–a field later dubbed “high-frequency trading.” He lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he has had the great pleasure of teaching derivatives at the business schools of both Duke University and the University of Chapel Hill.
