Dick Diamond
About the Author
Dick Diamond has been trading for a living for over 35 years. Diamond has expertise in trading OEX options, S&P/Nasdaq futures and Dow/Amex/Nasdaq equities. He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from The Wharton School of Business (University of Pennsylvania). Diamond was attracted to Wall Street because his father was a member of the New York Stock Exchange. After active duty in the Marine Corps, he worked as a floor broker on the American Stock Exchange (1960-1965). He left the floor in 1965 and has been trading his own account since then.
Diamond’s enthusiasm for trading is perhaps matched only by his passion and desire to teach and mentor students. In fact, he has taught over 1,000 students his trading discipline through his Market Mentor trading course. His earliest fan was Bob Prechter, president of Elliott Wave International and author of multiple books on the Wave Principle. Diamond taught Bob important nuances of option trading that gave Prechter an edge when he set a new record for options trading in the U.S. Trading Championship in 1984. Diamond has had the pleasure of working with students from as far away as Alaska, Abu Dhabi, Germany, Belgium and India. In addition, he has been asked to lecture at several professional seminars.
