About the Author

David Bean has been trading the financial markets since 1995 starting with stocks. He transitioned to futures and commodities in 1996 with an interest in the global macro view of the markets. In 1997 he began developing automated trading systems. He currently trades futures, equities, and options and has published several books since 2010. Algorithmic Trading Systems will be his fifth book. Trading, researching, and publishing are David’s professional passions.

He is the owner of Capstone Trading Systems, a company that specializes in providing trading information and automated trading systems to its clients in the commodity, futures, forex, and stock markets. He has developed numerous trading systems since 1997 as well as the money management algorithms. The money management algorithms are the first commercially available “trading system for your trading system” that allows you to test different risk parameters and advanced entry techniques and setup automation in the same workspace setup. The mission is to provide trading systems that will exceed average returns while minimizing risk and meeting individual client’s needs.

His formal academic studies include a BS in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1994. He worked in government and corporate wireless telecommunications from 1995-2000 and became a full-time trader in 2001.
