Description

The goal of The Daily Trading Coach is to teach you as much as possible about coaching, so that you can mentor yourself to success in the financial markets. The key word in the title is “Daily.” This book is designed to be a resource that you can use every day to build upon strengths and overcome weaknesses.

Introduction:

There are 101 lessons in The Daily Trading Coach, averaging several pages in length. Each lesson follows a general format, identifying a trading challenge, an approach to meeting that challenge, and a specific suggestion or assignment for working on the issue. The chapters are independent of one another: you can read them in order, or you can use the table of contents or index to read, each day, the lesson that most applies to your current trading. Unlike a traditional book, the idea is not to read it through from front to back in a few sittings.

Rather, you take one lesson at a time and apply it to guide your development as a trader. Like the blog, it’s an on-screen reminder of what to do when you’re at your best, but—more than the blog—it’s also a roadmap (and practical set of insights and tools) for discovering and  implementing the best within you.

The aim of The Daily Trading Coach is to help you become your own trading coach, but a glance at the chapter and lesson titles reveals that the broader purpose is to help you coach yourself through life. The challenges and uncertainties we face in trading—the pursuit of rewards in the face of risks—are just as present in careers and relationships as in markets. Techniques that help you master yourself as a trader will serve you well in any field of endeavor. In that sense, the goal is not just to make money in the markets, it is to prosper in all of life’s undertakings.

Very analytical but easy to understand

  3. Titus Brown (verified owner)

Good advice. Short chapters. Easy to read for 10 mins at a time. I enjoyed it and learned some things for sure.

  4. Luella McConnell (verified owner)

It gives you a general understanding of different types of emotions you go through while trading and how to manage them before they control you. Great book for beginners in day trading.

  5. Jaxson Washington (verified owner)

Great book to become better trader

  6. Cara Cross (verified owner)

I’ve read several books on trading psychology and this book sits at the top in terms of relevant, actionable lessons to work on oneself. That is an absolute given if you want to be a successful trader. Self-development is necessary and hard, I recommend this book as a great guide to do just that. And the ending is very touching.

I trade for a living and I didn’t think I needed another trading book. This one is different. It is like a coach talking to you over your shoulder reminding you of what you know. I started with the audio book and then got the book so I could use it whenever. It has a lot of simple but head nodding tips and comments. It is positive reinforcement instead of “yelling at you” reinforcement.

This will teach you everything about psychology of trading! It can also apply to life in general! Hands down one of the best trading books you can read! Highly recommended read/listen for any trader!

Very happy with the purchase. The author, a psychiatrist/stock trader, knows what he is writing about, and communicates it clearly. Very down to earth. I’m not a day trader, and like the author a few trades in a day are enough for me. Am reading a couple of chapters a day. Opened the book in the middle as soon as it arrived, and immediately clicked with paragraphs about self observation (almost like a meditative state for me), as the human being in charge of making the trades, studying the fundamentals, reading the charts, etc. is the key to the game. Actually, quite a wealth of information here, and more like a self-help book, a genre that I like, with focus on stock trading that anyone managing accounts should find valuable. Much to learn here, beyond profit and loss and money.

Awesome book. Really worth the price.

This book (along with Mark Douglas’ Trading in the Zone) has absolutely changed the way I trade. I would either have continued to throw away my money or would have given up trading altogether had I not read this book. Overall, It’s an easy read, BUT it’s a lot to take in. It’s a book that should be read with patience and care. Do yourself a favor: take your time with this book. Don’t try to rush it. Actually implement the lessons into your trading routine.

    Great book

  13. Miguel Clements (verified owner)

I like his gentle approach to coaching. It’s very compassionate, never scolding, never telling you what to do. He explains why we do “bad” things and then comes up with a practice that we can incorporate into our daily routine. I still read it when I want a refresher.

I’ve heard many good things about this book. It was highly recommended to me by one of my mentors to read. Alot of gems in each chapter. Day trading is a mental game and I see that as I am a newbie day trader. Only been trading for less than a year. Takes thick skin, patience, persistence, and evolving into the best possible version you can be. Everyone can benefit!

I LOVE this book and I’m reading it the second time around… I went through the audiobook mostly the first time around but now I’m reading the digital/hard copy to take notes on it.

This gives you the trading psychology and practical exercises to build on the tools you learn from the book. Most books talk about the problems but glaze over the solutions. This book dives deep into the problems and deeper into the solutions!

  16. Valerie Shepherd (verified owner)

    Good book

  17. Davina Rhodes (verified owner)

Had high hopes, given the title. But thats where it is all, just in the title. Book is full of tips and tricks and information. However, no anchor. Beginner reader will be lost, by the end of it not sure what to do or follow. Good for picking up little nuggets here and there.

    Love this book
