Modern Astrology offers a new, self-developmental approach to astrology with skills and strategies to take control of your life path and purpose. Astrology is a cosmic blueprint of who you are and what life holds, but it is not set it in stone. Leaving predictions to the past, Modern Astrology uses a contemporary psychological approach to decode your life’s path and promote positive, personal growth through actionable skills and strategies.
Introduction:
Evolutionary Astrology is the “school” of astrology I speak about in this book as I guide you to look at each area of your chart as an opportunity for growth, based on a deep self-knowledge rather than on generic tools that apply to everyone. Personally, Evolutionary Astrology has helped me reach a place of deep contentment, acceptance, and happiness.
When used appropriately, astrology is one of the best tools for personal development. When you are born, a cosmic blueprint of your soul’s evolution in this lifetime is created based on the date, time, and place of your birth. Evolutionary Astrology posits that your soul chose the time, date, and place of your birth so that you are given the opportunity to fulfll an evolutionary purpose from karmic lessons (a spiritual principle of cause and effect) from previous lifetimes. You are born with a persona (public image or personality, as distinguished from the inner self), ego (the part of you that mediates between the conscious and the unconscious), and soul (the spiritual or immaterial part of you that is regarded as immortal), which is designed to fulfll an evolutionary purpose. Your chart provides the map to help you discover and fulfll that purpose.
Your natal chart is a blueprint that evolves over your lifetime based on how you respond and react to outer events and the evolutionary spiral of unfolding that planetary transits bring. You always have free will and choice in every single moment of your life. You choose how you embody the energies in the natal chart since all placements have both “higher” and “lower” vibrations. You also choose how you respond and react to the evolutionary planetary cycles throughout your life and how they impact your natal chart. Your soul chooses a general path of evolutionary development, but throughout life, you possess free will to choose which direction to go in and which traits to consciously activate.
Your current life is shaped by your past lives, and your soul desires to learn from that past. For example, in a previous lifetime, you may have been a powerful person who exercised power in an unhealthy way over others; in this lifetime, your lesson will be how to use power in a right and just way. You can always choose the way you respond to the cosmic blueprint (your natal chart) that you were born with and how you respond to the evolutionary triggers in the spiral of your soul’s growth. It is the awareness and consciousness of the energies in your chart that help you better make choices that bring you closer to your soul’s desire and evolutionary purpose. In your natal chart, you have the planets, the luminaries (Sun and Moon, grouped with the planets), and points such as the Moon’s Nodes that indicate the “what” in your chart.
